Our Mission

Our ultimate aim is to elevate childhood in our TCS community and society at large.

Our mission is what gets us there…

For more than 50 years, Treehouse Children’s School (formerly Child Care Center in Norwich), has provided quality early childhood education for the families of the Upper Valley. TCS has a reputation for its skillful teachers, creative learning environment, and commitment to community. We pride ourselves on meeting the highest professional standards. We are accredited through NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), a member of NAREA (North American Reggio Emilia Alliance), and qualify as a “5 STAR” program in Vermont, the top ranking in Vermont’s quality recognition system for early childhood programs.

Our Mission

Educate creatively. We provide high-quality early education and afterschool programs based on a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach.

Serve broadly.  We welcome, value and honor children and families from all backgrounds, believing that diversity strengthens community.

Learn continuously.  We continually refine our early education understandings, practices and offerings for the benefit of children and families.

Partner meaningfully.  We are a positive and involved community partner with our parents and families, other early education providers, and local organizations.

Grow sustainably.  We steward the school into the future through sound fiscal management, reducing our environmental impact, and nurturing relationships over time.
